The Reason Chick-Fil-A Is So Clean And Efficient

Chick-fil-A has been, for many years, one of those fast-food places that you can go to without giving it a second thought, knowing you'll find one of your favorite meals. The eatery has existed in some form since 1946 when the brand's founder, Truett Cathy, opened the first Dwarf Grill outlet in Atlanta (via the Chick-fil-A website).

The brand has now grown massively since its inception and bills itself as the largest "quick-service chicken restaurant" in the country. According to Maisie Bolton, an ex-Chick-fil-A employee, the company has quite a few impressive practices that are worth taking note of (via Lemonade Stand). For example, the team makes sure everyone is up to speed by holding regular meetings to give everyone a chance to reflect on their week at work.

Bolton also explains why Chick-fil-A outlets are always so clean and seem to run like clockwork. This is what you need to know.

They make every minute count

While not all Chick-fil-As are run the same way, a lot of them are clearly doing something right. According to Eat This, Not That!, a 2018 survey found that Chick-fil-A was believed to be the cleanest eateries in the country. There is a simple reason that you don't need to fret over hygiene in the restaurant's kitchens and restrooms, no matter when you decide to pay a visit. Bolton explains in her piece for Lemonade Stand that the chain doesn't do things in a haphazard fashion. Basically, when Chick-fil-A has slow hours, its employees make it a point to keep themselves occupied through activities such as cleaning or training. They're either getting better at their job or making the restaurant a neater, tidier place.

Additionally, there's a strict checklist that team members at each Chick-fil-A outlet need to adhere to every single day to make sure that the cleanliness standards are maintained. Bolton also says that in the kitchen, "every station is wiped down and everyone is paying attention to the screens that indicate what food needs to be made next." That allows you to be at ease and enjoy your meal in a mess-free environment. Impressive stuff, eh?
