This Is Andrew Zimmern's All-Time Favorite Hot Sauce

Andrew Zimmern, host of Travel Channel's "Bizarre Foods," definitely doesn't shy away from the strange and unusual. Seriously, the James Beard Award-winning chef has noshed down on fuzzy tarantulas, balut, horse rectum, and the list goes on. Zimmern's palate is either more sophisticated than everyone else's or his taste buds are just always up for a challenge. He can definitely stomach less appealing foods than the rest of us.

So, it shouldn't surprise you to learn he is also a fan of a variety of hot sauces. In fact, he did an interview, posted on YouTube, where he started off with a little pandering to Sean Evans in hopes of an invite to graze on chicken wings and some really hot sauces on "Hot Ones." Zimmern shared in the interview, "We're paying homage to our favorite hot sauce show 'Hot Ones', while I wait for my invite to be on the show." Well, the celebrity chef is still talking about hot sauces and he took to TikTok to share his all-time favorite sauce, and this one might be worth a try if you are a fan of ingredients that make your mouth do the cha-cha.

Zimmern recommends Hot Sloth CBD Sauce

The hot sauce that Zimmern revealed to be his favorite is definitely one that will slowly, but definitely light your mouth ablaze and have you humming Glenn Frey's "The Heat is On." Zimmern shared on TikTok that while he has like 90 different hot sauces at his home, he always keeps Hot Sloth CBD Sauce in his fridge, and it is his all-time favorite hot sauce. That's quite the endorsement. Created by Zimmern's friends at Pot d'Huile, Hot Sloth CBD Sauce is described on their website as a "lightly fermented plum" with a "peppery kick of habanero." Not to mention, it is a pretty pink color.

According to Gear Patrol, it is dragon fruit that gives this sauce the sweet flavor that helps with the delayed heat. If the fact that it contains CBD makes you feel a little iffy about trying it, Health.com shares that it is not psychoactive. Junella Chin, DO, an osteopathic physician and a medical cannabis expert told Health.com, "You won't feel sedated or altered in any way." Zimmern really must enjoy this sauce because he shared on Facebook, "Mike Bagale and Kat Odell have created a hot sauce that I want on everything."
