Whataburger Fans Are Freaking Out Over Its New Outdoor Clothing Line

Sports fans and burger fans have a lot to look forward to. After leading the Kansas City Chiefs to a Super Bowl victory in 2020 (per Sports Illustrated), Patrick Mahomes has turned his eye to his favorite burger chain, Whataburger. While Whataburger has a not-too-shabby 820 locations in the United States, per Providence Journal, these stops are all in the Southeast and Southwest, predominantly in Texas. Mahomes has professed his love for Whataburger in the past, and recently joined a group of investors called KMO Burgers to bring the chain north, with 30 locations between Kansas and Missouri (via Restaurant Business).

And now, the footballer's beloved chain has taken a page from his book and gone sporty with an exciting apparel collaboration, according to a press release sent to Mashed. The big ol' burger lifestyle is about to get an outdoorsy, athletic new look. On sale now, Whataburger's collaboration with retailer Academy Sports + Outdoors and its private brand Magellan Outdoors offers shoppers the opportunity to rep fresh styles and their love for the fast food chain. And who knew, surprisingly, Whataburger's signature white and orange color scheme makes for a cool look for beach days and fishing trips.

Whataburger's sporty collection includes shirts, shorts, and hats

Now that we've gotten a peek at the Whataburger and Magellan Outdoors collection, we can reveal that it includes long-sleeved performance tees, boat shorts, short-sleeved woven fishing shirts, and caps. All the items somehow weave together athletic sensibility, outdoorsy appeal, and Whataburger branding in a surprisingly stylish motif. Prices run from $14.99 for caps to $19.99 for tees and shorts to $24.99 for button-downs (per Academy Sports + Outdoors), so the lineup is affordable, too. In addition to being available online, the collection is also on sale at Academy's 106 locations across Texas.

Naturally, Whataburger fans are freaking out over the ultimate fishing fashion drop. "The collab we didn't know we needed," one fan commented on Whataburger's Instagram account. "I'll take one of everything plz," another fan joked. Several other commenters hinted that their birthday or graduations were coming up, and that this orange and white, burger-loving apparel was on their wishlists. Many fans expressed their disbelief that the collab between two iconic Texas brands could even be real (it is).

Texans, take note: If you spend $20 or more in-store on these items, you'll get a special-edition Whataburger x Magellan Outdoors table tent, free.
