The Truth About Sponjetta Parrish From Worst Cooks In America: Halloween Redemption 2

Food Network's "Worst Cooks in America" series features culinary flops from across the country who sign up to participate in a cooking boot camp. The "Worst Cooks in America: Halloween Redemption 2" season, which airs on September 26, will feature four cooks from previous "Worst Cooks in America" seasons as well as celebrity chefs Anne Burrell and Michael Symon as coaches. Each contestant will tackle their frightful cooking and scary lack of culinary technique as they are pitted against each other to determine the winner, who walks away with a $5,000 kitchen overhaul, bragging rights, and, of course, redemption (via Food Network).

One of these four contestants is Sponjetta Parrish, a contestant we first met in season 15 of "Worst Cooks in America." Parrish originally auditioned for the show with several goals: putting an end to her fast food-laden diet, helping with her family's finances by preparing their own meals instead of eating out, and using the prize money to advance her career in music (via Food Network). Unfortunately, those dreams were not achieved, as Parrish was eliminated from the competition. But now she's back, seeking to earn the winning prize.

Sponjetta Parrish has made a commitment to improving her skills

Besides being a contestant on "Worst Cooks in America," Parrish has a singing and songwriting career. "I've been singing and writing songs since I was about age 12," she told the Athens Banner-Herald. Parrish appeared on season 5 of NBC's "America's Got Talent" (via Twitter), singing her original song "Studio" (via YouTube). Unfortunately, the outcome of her AGT audition was about just as good as the results of her "Worst Cooks in America" appearance, as she received three "nos" from the judges (also posted on YouTube).

However, Parrish was not deterred from following her dream, and today, along with hoping to improve her skills in the kitchen, she continues to pursue her music career. She posts many of her performances on her YouTube channel, which has 1.63K subscribers.

Perhaps Sponjetta Parrish will show improved culinary talents on this season of "Worst Cooks in America: Halloween Redemption 2." Perhaps not. One thing's for certain: We'll tune in to see.
