While Ginger Mama's heartfelt tweet which did earn itself three "likes," it received exactly zero responses from anyone, let alone Chick-fil-A itself. Of course, it's nothing new that Chick-fil-A is remaining tight-lipped over whether and when this pink-hued, peppermint-bark-studded, whipped-cream-and-maraschino-cherry-topped fan favorite might make its appearance for the cold-weather season.
Year after year, fans take to social media soon after the last summer milkshakes have been dispensed (via Twitter) to wonder aloud when their craving for Chick-fil-A's "Icedream"-based shake might be satisfied. This year is no different, and the fast food chicken giant is no doubt aware of this fact (via Chick-fil-A's The Chickenwire). Yet the radio silence continues, other than an email sent to Mashed from a Chick-fil-A media liaison who promised to alert us once they "make that announcement." Nevertheless, after untold years of observing this sort of "when-will-it-drop" drama play out, we now have a working theory as to when the Chick-fil-A Peppermint Chocolate Chip Milkshake will return for 2021.

While we don't have a crystal ball, we do have reason to believe Chick-fil-A's fall and winter fan favorite, the Peppermint Chocolate Chip milkshake, will return in 2021. First, Chick-fil-A has acknowledged how important this wintry treat is to customers. Just last year, Chick-fil-A's director of menu and packaging, Leslie Neslage, flat-out acknowledged in a statement that the "Peppermint Chip Milkshake" has earned the status of Chik-fil-A "annual tradition" (via Atlanta Journal-Constitution). Further, Neslage noted that "during a year when the way we celebrate may feel a bit different, we hope these two seasonal favorites will help bring a touch of familiarity."

In 2017, the Peppermint Chocolate Chip milkshake appeared in Chick-fil-A restaurants on Sunday, December 3.
