Reddit Swears This Soup Will Help With Your Seasonal Depression

As the night starts to arrive that much sooner, many who suffer from seasonal affective disorder have to whip out their time-tested strategies to deal with cold weather and dark days. According to Everyday Health, aromatherapy, social activity, and extra exercise can all add up to provide a bit of relief. Reddit now has another suggestion that can help warm up any home and one user swears that it can even help with seasonal depression.

Redditor recently created a post that read, "this green curry lentil soup is so easy to make yet so dang flavorful. It makes me feel like a chef, it makes me feel *so* accomplished when I manage to make it! It's only a few ingredients (ginger! garlic! broth! curry paste! potatoes!) and it is infinitely customizable ( I tried with both green and red curry paste — amazing both times, yet the green curry one is my favorite iteration) and it is so spicy yet fresh that it warms my cold-*ss soul. Go on, fill your mouth and your existential void with this ECAH-worthy recipe." The post also linked to a soup recipe from Bon Appétit that's packed with greens, lentils, and sweet potatoes.

A flavorful soup that can improve anyone's day

The Reddit community loves this soup and users couldn't wait to show the recipe some love. Responses poured in, like, "This is an awesome soup for this dying time of the year, I hate the time change and struggle with the loss of productivity in the afternoons. Your soup will be great when I make it tomorrow!" and "Trying this because of the excellent write-up. 10/10 – would also like to fill the existential void in me too." Some users even had some ideas on how to improve the recipe, like, "If you can get yourself Mae Ploy brand curry paste, and try the 'sour' or 'yellow' iterations."

Others simply couldn't wait to try out the meal, saying, "Thanks for sharing, this looks right up my alley. Yum." If you need a soup that can warm you up this winter, try out this lentil curry meal that has enough spice packed in to win over Reddit. With any luck, it can help you forget about how early the sun sets and the many cold days ahead.
