Ree Drummond is the epitome of a female powerhouse. After her very first recipe blog post went viral, it didn't take long for Drummond to make a name for herself. Fast forward a few more years, Drummond's family-friendly recipe blog was drawing in 13 million views a month and $1 million pay checks every year (via Cheat Sheet). Not too shabby! Nowadays, between her New York Times bestselling cookbooks, her booming Food Network show, and her successful line of kitchenware and food products, the Oklahoma native is proving that there's nothing she can't do. Through her ever-increasing culinary empire, The Pioneer Woman has not only become a brand but a household name.
Unlike many famous chefs who are completely different in real life, Drummond is just as genuine and down-to-earth and she seems on screen, according to fans (via Cheat Sheet). Aside from her easy, non-fussy recipes, the Pioneer Woman also shares a lot of real life moments with her viewers, including her relationship with her husband Ladd Drummond. After 25 years of marriage, the happy couple is still going strong. When it comes to maintaining a long-lasting relationship, Drummond has her own tried and true secret tips.
Ree Drummond advises married couples to 'never, ever, ski together'
Sometimes real-life romances are even sweeter than the ones that we watch unfold on TV. Way back in the day, Ree Drummond and her husband Ladd shared an adorable meet cute in a fairytale moment that fans know all too well. One fateful night, in The Pioneer's Woman's hometown, the single strangers met at a bar. "He was just completely different than all the boys I'd been crazy about," Drummond shared with People in 2018. "My knees were weak," she continued.
With 25 years of marriage in the books, it seems like Ladd still has the ability to make Drummond's heart skip a beat. While every marriage has its ups, downs, joys, and hardships, the cookbook author recently shared her and Ladd's secret to success on Instagram. "Never mind my crooked sunglasses, I just wanted to share a photo with Ladd from last summer and also use this opportunity to share three of my secrets to a happy marriage," Drummond wrote, accompanying a photo of her and Ladd in the great outdoors. "1. Listen to each other. 2. Touch feet in bed right before you go to sleep, even if you're mad. 3. Never, ever ski together. Well, it's a start, anyway!" Duly noted, Ree! If you are planning an upcoming ski trip with your loved one, maybe consider a beach holiday, instead.
