Reddit Is Divided Over The Best Of The 'Legendary' Taco Bell Faves
Taco Bell is constantly innovating new ideas for burritos, tacos, enchiladas, and nachos, or devising twists on current menu items. You would think there would be only so many ways to rearrange what essentially boils down to eight or nine ingredients, but Taco Bell always comes up with something slightly different to intrigue fans.
With a menu staple like the brand's crunchy taco, transformation involved creating a shell that resembled another junk food favorite, the Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Tacos. The company also added to its everyday burrito arsenal in the 2000s with the introduction of the Grilled Stuft Burrito, which it later biggie-sized with an XXL version (via Food Beast). It has also periodically offered limited-time runs of its Nacho Fries at participating locations to help generate buzz and demand since the product's 2018 launch (per Taco Bell).
Three of Taco Bell's most popular items among devotees have been the Crunchwrap Supreme, the Cheesy Gordita Crunch, and the Chalupa. However, Reddit is somewhat divided over which of these 'legendary' Taco Bell favorites is the best.
The best of the best
Redditor u/Ata3121 elicited some spirited debate when they posted images to the subreddit r/tacobell of these three top Taco Bell menu contenders with the challenge, "you can only pick one." Cheesy Gordita Crunch backers said the choice was a no-brainer. User u/ihatemyself887 proclaimed of the gordita, which the chain brought back last year, "Best thing on the menu in my opinion." Commenter u/pimusic went even further in their praise, calling it "arguably the best fast food item on the market." The aptly named Taco Bell enthusiast u/Killer_Quesadilla threw their animated support behind it as well, stating "Cheesy gordita crunch–don't you go changin'!!!"
Although the Cheesy Gordita Crunch tallied the majority of votes in the thread, other Redditors sided with a different item. Contributor u/oopsiedaisy2019 placed themselves squarely in the Crunchwrap Supreme camp. "Crunchwrap till the day I die. I'm not judging anyone's personal tastes but I don't understand what's not to love." Redditor u/arabus1234 agreed, proudly declaring, "Crunchwraps are my thing, lol."
Other commenters supported Team Chalupa, including u/made4thisquestion, who remarked, "Chalupa all day every day," and u/QO4legos, who said it was "Chalupa, no questions asked." User u/ChocolatePain explained their choice among the three. "Crunchwraps are too variable amongst TBs and I never understood the love for CGCs. I've always been a chalupa man. The shell is just so satisfying."
