  • In 2016, Laura worked a season on a vegetable farm in the Hudson Valley of New York to learn more about how food is made.
  • She once sampled more than 20 hot sauces in one sitting for a story, and did in fact live to tell the tale.
  • Her greatest culinary accomplishment is successfully nailing a kouign-amann on her very first try.

Laura has worked as a professional writer for five years. She got her start at Mountain Xpress, an arts and culture publication in Asheville, North Carolina, where she delved into everything from sourdough starters and food truck competitions to the history of pizza.
