Farm-to-table, Italian cuisine, Cooking tips
  • Inspired by her studies in the Italian language, Sophia worked at the Florence Food Studio in Florence, Italy, during college. She learned the ins and outs of Tuscan cuisine and assisted in teaching cooking classes to travelers from around the world.
  • When travelling, the first place she likes to go is the local grocery store. Whether it's getting a glimpse of every type of tinned fish one can buy in Lisbon or broadening her perspective on the shelves of Midwestern co-ops, she believes it's the quickest way to get a feel for how locals eat on a daily basis.
  • She writes a weekly newsletter for the Minneapolis Farmers Market, one of the largest farmers markets in the Midwest, covering everything from seasonal produce to farmers' life stories.
