The Dunkin' Seasonal Drink Reddit Desperately Wants To Go Full Time
When it comes to seasonal drinks, some staples stand out more than others. As we transition to fall, for example, Pumpkin Spice Lattes are the go-to drink of the season. During the winter, eggnog is a go-to for numerous holiday parties. Of all the drinks considered seasonal, lemonade is not likely to make the list. The drink is usually available year-round at fast food restaurants like Chick-fil-A. Even coffee shops like Starbucks serve lemonade year-round (via Sweet Steep). So, it may come as a surprise that Dunkin' chooses to make the popular drink a seasonal offering branded as lemonade refreshers.
This summer saw the return of the chain's lemonade refresher line featuring a variety of flavors to choose from, including Mango Pineapple, Peach Passion Fruit, and Strawberry Dragonfruit (via Dunkin' Newsroom). While many fans celebrated the return of the lemonade refreshers, fans on Reddit began wondering why it was not offered year-round.
Laments of limited lemonade
After Dunkin' announced that their lemonade refreshers would be making a return this summer, fans on Reddit made it known that they demand the drink to be available year-round. The original poster stated, "I don't understand who on gods green earth thought lemonade should be seasonal. such a waste. i only liked the refreshers with lemonade so it seems they'll be losing me for that." Another user responded frustratedly with, "It's weird af to me how Dunkin gets rid of some of the most basic stuff."
Interestingly, one user posed a possible reason for the limited offering may have to do with location. They stated, "I don't know many people who would order lemonade in the winter, but I live in upstate NY. I could totally see it being a staple down south." However, another user refuted such a claim stating, "People order iced coffee year round in MA. I don't see why lemonade is such a stretch, we do iced tea year round." Whatever the reason may be, it is clear that should they ever sell lemonade throughout the year, many fans will be delighted.
