Michael Symon's Pro Drink Tip When Dining Out

Dining out at a restaurant should be a fun and stress-free experience. Maybe you're dining out to celebrate a birthday or meet up with visiting friends or relatives. Perhaps it's a Tuesday night and instead of hassling over cooking and cleaning you could enjoy a delicious meal at your favorite local joint. No matter why you dine out, there's something special about having someone else cook your meal, serve you, and clean up. Even famous celebrity chefs, who can easily whip up a delicious meal from the comfort of their kitchen, enjoy dining out. Bobby Flay owns a restaurant empire, but even he likes to have an occasional night out. When Flay dines out, he prefers to eat something he can't easily whip up at home, something like oysters served on crushed ice (per Pop Sugar).

While it may be intimidating for chefs to cook for the culinary icon, the one thing Flay never does while dining outis send food back. Chefs have certain rules and tips they abide by when dining out to ensure the best experience. According to One Good Thing, chefs recommend showing up for your reservation even if you're late, and being polite and courteous to the waitstaff. Celebrity Chef Michael Symon shared his best advice for dining out while enjoying your drink of choice.

Get to the bar first

Michael Symon took to Twitter to share his advice for the best dining out experience. Symon wrote, "I typically go to bar early .. bring drink to table with me .. pro move." Symon helped to solve the dilemma the diners often face when enjoying their night out. Often, as soon as customers sit down and the drink order is taken, there is a rush to take the full order, leaving little time to enjoy perusing the menu or talking with your company. Several users agreed with Symon's take, with others chiming in that it's even better to eat your whole meal at the bar.

If you're not dining out, but want to enjoy bar drinks at home, Symon created a summer cocktail that brings the taste of summer to your home bar or kitchen. His drink, dubbed Pink Thunder, is a cocktail made with pink lemonade, bourbon, ginger beer, and cherry juice (via Instagram). Egg whites add a frothy top, while red cocktail cherries are a sweet nod to summer. It's a cocktail that can easily be made at home if you choose to have a night in. For those nights when you want to treat yourself to a night out, just make sure to go early and get a great seat at the bar.
