Cinco De Mayo Day Deals You Need To Know About For 2023

Cinco de Mayo is upon us, and there are numerous deals up for grabs featuring discounts on tacos, margaritas, chips and guacamole, and a number of other Mexican-inspired bites and drinks. The May 5 holiday is only loosely observed in Mexico and marks a historic battle during the Franco-Mexican war in 1862. In the U.S., meanwhile, it's promoted heavily as a celebration of Mexican culture, particularly by brands and restaurants as a day to enjoy libations and food.

Some brands are putting out new content for the occasion, such as Topo Chico's collab with chef Rick Martínez on celebratory dishes. Headed to a fiesta? There's still time to prep some Cinco de Mayo recipes to share with your friends. And to sweeten the deal for all the adults out there, Cinco de Mayo is on a Friday this year — talk about a perfect way to end the work week with the ability to actually sleep in the next day. These are the offers brands are promoting to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in 2023.

7-11, Speedway, and Stripes

Enjoying tacos can be as simple as stopping near your closest gas station on Friday. Members of the 7Rewards or Speedy Rewards programs can enjoy 10 mini crunchy tacos — filled with shredded and spiced beef, green chiles, jalapenos, and cilantro — for $2 from now through May 5 at participating 7-Eleven, Speedway, and Stripes locations. The Cinco de Mayo promotion comes right after the return of Bring Your Own Cup Day at the convenience stores.

Moe's Southwest Grill

Moe's Southwest Grill is celebrating Cinco de Mayo by giving double the points value to loyalty members who place an in-app order on May 5 at participating locations. The chain is also giving out free T-shirts on the holiday — though only to the first 50 customers who walk in the door. In addition, those hosting parties to celebrate are invited to order catering from the fast-casual burrito chain, with curbside pickup available for those who have places to be.

On The Border

On The Border is calling itself "Cinco Central" this May 5. Capping off a monthlong celebration that offered guests happy hour deals every Thursday in April, the Mexican grill and cantina will serve its house margaritas for $6 on Cinco de Mayo. Those who chow down on chicken flautas and Border queso may catch a virtual glimpse of Mark Wahlberg, who will be presenting his On The Border margarita made with his own Flecha Azul tequila brand.

Tijuana Flats

Florida-based Mexican concept Tijuana Flats, known for its Taco Tuesday deals, is offering guests a variety of $5 menu items from May 5 through 7. Options include margaritas, Mexican Cokes and beers, and the Tijuana Trio of guacamole, salsa, and queso. Customers who place catering orders for pickup on the evening of May 5 will get 50% off their eight-pack of margaritas, while those who dine at the restaurant between 8 p.m. and midnight can experience free tacos, contests, and double points on rewards orders.

Applebee's

As we all know, Applebee's has been dishing out Cinco de Mayo deals for years, and 2023 is no different. In addition to plenty of fun margaritas on the menu, Applebee's has a special running May 1 through 7. The deal includes a burger, an order of fries, and a fountain drink for $10.99.

What's more, a dozen Applebee's locations in Virginia will be offering additional Cinco de Mayo deals. According to WXFR Fox, patrons can get several menu items for $5, from margaritas to mozzarella sticks, quesadillas, and boneless wings. All in all, a real fiesta if you happen to be in Virginia on May 5.

Even if you don't live in Virginia, Applebee's also has an ongoing $6 Cervezas & Sips deal, which runs through May 14. Great for Cinco de Mayo festivities, but also great if you're busy on the 5th and have to postpone your partying.

Jack in the Box

While Jack in the Box isn't as well known for Mexican(ish) food as, say, Taco Bell or Chipotle, it's still gotten some fame for its tacos. As such, West Coast readers might want to hit Jack in the Box up on Cinco de Mayo for the chance to celebrate and save some money.

Between May 4 and May 7, customers who belong to the Jack Pack rewards program can score deals like $3 tiny tacos, $3.50 breakfast burritos, and two standard tacos for 99 cents. Considering a meat lover's breakfast burrito is usually in the $6 to $7 range, that's a pretty good bargain.

Although the chain may not have too many deals going on for Cinco de Mayo, Jack in the Box makes up for it in range. In addition to tacos and burritos, the menu includes stuffed jalapenos and mini churros, while the Jack in the Box secret menu includes loaded spicy nacho curly fries.

Buffalo Wild Wings

In the event that your Cinco de Mayo style leans more towards wings than tacos, you're in luck. Buffalo Wild Wings also has some pretty fun deals for May 5, and unlike most other restaurants offering celebratory discounts, these deals change depending on what time you stop by to eat.

If you visit Buffalo Wild Wings earlier in the evening –- we're talking between 3 and 6 p.m. –- you can score happy hour savings like $5 strawberry margaritas and $3 chips and salsa. After 9 p.m., on the other hand, you can access deals like $4 hatch chile queso and $4 chips and guac. These last two offers are good until the end of the night.

Of course, you can also order off the chain's regular menu, which includes Cinco de Mayo-esque items like street tacos, nachos, and spicy wings. Why not celebrate Cinco de Mayo and Cinco de Wing-o simultaneously?
