Carlos has worked as a food writer and journalist since 2010 and has published work in numerous outlets including Creative Loafing Tampa, Edible Tampa Bay, Patch News, and more. He built a following on social media outlets including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other outlets to help promote his work. Carlos started writing about food in college with a food blog and quickly started writing for local newspapers as well as magazines, and he continues to freelance today. He joined Mashed.com in April 2023 and brings a long background in food writing to the outlet that includes covering restaurants, rising chefs, food brands, wineries, national news, and other topics.

Carlos has a bachelor's degree in International Relations from the University of South Florida.
