Who Is Hunter Fieri's Wife, Tara Bernstein?

Guy Fieri has built a food empire as the "Mayor of Flavortown," but in his personal life, he has two biological sons, Hunter and Ryder. He also raised his sister's son, Jules, after she passed away in 2011. Fieri's oldest son, Hunter, is the self-proclaimed "Prince of Flavortown" and made his own path in the food industry when he collaborated with plant-based food brand ZENB in 2021. Through this partnership, he hosted the documentary "What Plants Can Do," in which he showed viewers how they can make their own plant-based dishes at home. In his personal life, however — aka beyond Flavortown duties — he's married to Tara Bernstein.

The two met in 2023 and dated for nine months before he proposed, which seemed like a no-brainer to the young Fieri. He told People in December of that year, "[Tara] has so much drive, so much passion, so much energy ... And that's what I look for in a person." They officially tied the knot in August 2025 and have since shared small glimpses of their lives on their respective social media accounts. But who is Tara Bernstein? From what we know, she's a killer pickleball player, she had an exciting job in the sports industry, and she knows just how to host a matcha party.

Tara Bernstein can thank Super Bowl LVII for introducing her to her future husband. Bernstein was working at his father Guy Fieri's annual Super Bowl tailgate, which was a spectacle in itself. The annual event is a food festival, music festival, and brand activation all in one, and in 2023, Bernstein taught celebrities how to play pickleball there before they went to watch the big game. Once her job was done, she and a few friends joined in on the tailgate fun. While dancing, she asked then-stranger Hunter Fieri to record her. Afterward, he handed her phone back, and they exchanged very few words.

But in a "random" turn of events, as Fieri told People in 2023, the two bumped into each other again inside the stadium at the concession stand. They got to talking, and Fieri said they "connected on a deep level really quickly." So much so that they missed Rihanna's halftime performance and the end of the game. Talk about a night to remember.

Tara Bernstein wouldn't have been able to teach celebrities how to play pickleball if she wasn't a professional herself. As an athlete for a majority of her life (she even played softball in college), sports were part of Bernstein's identity. After she graduated from Pace University in 2018, she felt like a piece of her was missing. Her father invited her to a local game, and although she was skeptical at first, she went anyway. After that day, the rest was history. "When I stepped on that court I fell in love," she explained to Jejune Magazine in 2023.

In February 2025, she told Made+ (a footwear and apparel brand that hired Bernstein as its first brand ambassador) that the activity is "more than just a sport," and in August 2026, she took to Instagram and explained how the game has changed her life. Bernstein's work brings people together, and watching them fall in love with the sport is a bonus. "I genuinely cannot put into words what this game has given me. The joy, the people, the purpose. It fills me up in a way nothing else does," she wrote in the post's caption. Now, she encourages others to take a chance on something they're hesitant about.

Following her 2018 graduation from Pace University, where she studied journalism, communications, and sports journalism, Tara Bernstein landed one of her first post-college jobs with the Westchester Knicks. She also worked with the New York Knicks, and ahead of the basketball team's historic championship win in June 2026, she shared her journey from back when she was an in-game host. "It was my job to keep the fans engaged, dance with the mascot, dance with the fans ... Definitely has been one of my favorite things when I look back at my career," she explained in an Instagram reel.

She also worked with the New York Mets for nine years as an on-air producer, hosting its "Item of the Game" segments and creating social media content for the team. For Bernstein, the job felt like second nature. She told Naluda Magazine in 2023, "I played sports my whole life and was raised a Mets fan as a kid in Queens. Working with the Mets, I grew a passion for producing and creating. I was coming up with a ton of innovative / marketing ideas that were unique and beneficial for the brand."

If one thing has a permanent spot in Tara Bernstein's routine (other than pickleball, of course), it's matcha. The creator has a handful of videos on her social media accounts that feature the beverage, calling it "The boost I need for my little reset" in a 2026 TikTok video. As part of her partnership with Matcha Kari, she even encouraged her Instagram followers to host their own matcha parties. In the snapshots she shared from her get-together, she and her guests made matcha-themed food and drink recipes (of course) and partook in a soothing sound bath.

When she's not drinking this green staple, she uses the powder for baking purposes. For National Matcha Day in May 2026, Bernstein posted an Instagram video showing her making matcha energy bites. Bernstein said the snack — which features protein and oats — is delicious and an ideal post-workout energy bump. Since it's in everything from her morning beverage to her creative recipes, it's clear that Bernstein's love for the green powder runs deep.

Being married to the Prince of Flavortown technically makes Tara Bernstein the Princess of Flavortown. For the former self-proclaimed picky eater, whose staple foods included pasta and french fries, expanding her palate took some time, but with help from her father-in-law, Guy Fieri, she's encountered a new world of food. "It's been nice to have a father-in-law that is open to teaching me new things that I haven't ever tried before," she told People in 2025. For those who've watched Guy Fieri since his first appearance on the Food Network in 2006, his food knowledge does indeed feel endless.

In our exclusive interview with Hunter Fieri on what it's like to be Guy's son, the Prince of Flavortown explained that his father encouraged his children to understand the origins of their food. "One [thing I've learned from my dad] would be to really appreciate the food and understand where your food comes from, especially learning the different types of meats, or farm-to-table's a big thing," Hunter told us in 2021. As a multi-hyphenate athlete and creator, Bernstein's time with the Fieris is just another chapter full of pursuits.
