One Of The Best New Chick-Fil-A Items Isn't A Sandwich Or Dessert

Southern-style chicken sandwiches, waffle fries, and frosty Icedream desserts are usually top of mind when pondering Chick-fil-A's menu. However, you shouldn't count out the excellent beverage selection. The chain introduced some permanent drink updates this summer, including Pineapple Dragonfruit Sprite. Fans of the chain have high praise for the zesty, tropical-inspired drink, which made our list of the best and worst Chick-fil-A items of 2026 (so far). In case you're unfamiliar, dragonfruit tastes like a subtly sweet fusion of kiwis and pears. 

In a Reddit post discussing the beverage, one commenter declared, "I love it," while another dubbed the drink "Fantastic." On Facebook, a Chick-fil-A fan wrote, "10/10 recommend these Sprite pineapple dragonfruit drinks from Chick-fil-A." If you're curious about the flavor, the Reddit OP said, "I taste the pineapple a bit more than the dragonfruit but it tastes great and still has a decent Sprite crispness to it." Aside from Sprite, you can order Pineapple Dragonfruit with lemonade, iced tea, or Sunjoy, a mix of sweetened iced tea and lemonade. As for pairings, refreshing drinks are tailor-made for spicy meals, and the chain's chicken & waffles sandwich with a spicy filet fits the bill.

It's a little surprising that an established chicken joint is wowing customers with refreshing drinks, but Chick-fil-A's Pineapple Dragonfruit Sprite is fully in line with a larger trend across many fast food restaurants. Chains are gunning for Gen Z bucks by introducing new drink flavors with less common ingredients. Take Taco Bell's Tajín Pineapple Strawberry Freeze, which has been praised as one of the best new fast food drinks in 2026. Beverage releases are particularly tempting for restaurants, as they often have a higher profit margin (the percentage of revenue a business keeps after costs are deducted) than food-based menu items.

Along with its expanded beverage menu, Chick-fil-A has Daybright, a beverage-exclusive restaurant concept located in Hiram, Georgia. Daybright features its own branding and offers coffee drinks, smoothies, cold-pressed juices, and limited snacks. It's possible that the chain could use the Daybright concept to explore new beverage recipes before they hit Chick-fil-A locations. If so, Pineapple Dragonfruit Sprite may be getting some friendly competition in the future.
