Just Over 1 In 3 People Prefer This Cereal To All Others

Ask anyone what their favorite cereal is, and you're bound to hear some pretty passionate and varied opinions. Everyone has their own thoughts on the best brand and type, along with the best way to eat it. There are the sugary childhood classics, like Lucky Charms, Frosted Mini Wheats, Cocoa Puffs, and Fruit Loops. Then there are the "healthier" staples, like Cheerios, Raisin Bran, Special K, and Bran Flakes.

And then there are the more unique cereals that have come out in recent years, like Puffins, Girl Scout Thin Mints cereal, and even some that are keto-friendly for the low-carb among us. While there will never be one cereal that everyone unanimously agrees is number one, Mashed wanted to find out which is overall the most popular. We polled over 59,000 people worldwide via YouTube on their favorite cereal. Here's which one most people are pouring into their bowls in the morning.

Frosted Flakes are a nostalgic favorite

Apparently, Frosted Flakes really are as "grrrrreat" as Tony the Tiger says. The classic cereal that so many people remember from their childhood was a favorite for some 34 percent of survey respondents. According to Insider, not only are Frosted Flakes the third-best-selling cereal brand in the U.S., but nearly 31 million Americans eat Frosted Flakes at least once a week. There are currently four flavors of Frosted Flakes: the original, chocolate, honey nut, and even one that comes mixed with mini marshmallows for a Lucky Charms vibe.

As for how the other cereals fared? The "other" category actually tied with Frosted Flakes, earning 34 percent of the votes. Many people wrote in popular cereals like Lucky Charms, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Cap'n Crunch, and Cocoa Puffs. Next was Cheerios, with 18 percent of respondents choosing it as their favorite, followed by Fruit Loops with 15 percent.
