Shake Shack Fans Won't Want To Miss This Vaccination Deal

Get out that vaccination card because Shake Shack has a tasty free food offer you can claim after getting that shot in your arm. According to the brand's website, now through June 12, vaccinated guests can receive a free order of Crinkle Cut Fries in-store with any burger or chicken sandwich purchase. While this offer had originally been offered just in New York City, the promotion has since expanded across the country (except for airport, stadium or ballpark locations, according to the chain). Guests will have to show proof of the vaccine to redeem the offer, but the company assures no personal info will be stored or collected.

This free food offer is in line with the brand's "Stand For Something Good" motto (per the website). While this mission might seem broad based, the idea is woven into many facets of the restaurant — from the design to the food sourcing. With the current vaccination-inspired deal, this mission applies in a slightly different way, as the restaurant says, it was born out of a desire of "supporting our employees and protecting the communities we call home." As they add, "We're excited to offer free fries to any guest across the country who chooses to get vaccinated!" But, whether or not all the new free food offers and other perks popping up will entice more people to get the shot remains to be seen.

Can free food promotions encourage people to get vaccinated?

Since early 2020, the pandemic has been an ongoing topic in the daily news cycle. And now that the vaccine has been rolling out to the masses and guidelines are changing on mask wearing, there's even a bigger push to give it the spotlight. It's clear that Americans have very different viewpoints on the vaccine, and many companies like Shake Shack are offering promotions to encourage people to get the shot as an attempt to bring the country closer to herd immunity.

Although responses have varied on these incentives, the offers keep coming. CNET shares several of these current freebies. From Krispy Kreme doughnuts to White Castle, there are several tasty treats to be had all for showing a vaccination record. While some of the promotions have a limited duration, new ones seem to become available almost weekly. And from well respected brands — even McDonald's has gone as far as to partner with the Biden administration to provide more information on the vaccine, utilizing billboards and stickers on McCafé cups, according to the company website.

While the debate rages on about the vaccine, these offers seem to be continuing. So, if that vaccine card is just sitting in your wallet, why not use it to get some free food?
