Reddit Is Cracking Up Over An Aldi Pizza Mistake
All in all, Aldi is a pretty popular grocery chain. Some of the Aldi products in the fan hall of fame include Benton's cookies, Friendly Farms almond milk, and Stonemill Everything Bagel Seasoning. However, while some food products rise and fall in popularity, others maintain fairly consistent popularity over the years. You know, like Mama Cozzi's Take and Bake pizzas.
According to Kitchn, on any given day, you can find at least 17 different varieties of Mama Cozzi's pizzas in the Aldi deli, but another 60 varieties are launched throughout the year on a limited-time basis. Talk about a whole lot of pizza!
Even though Mama Cozzi's pizzas are among Aldi's 2022 Fan Favorites, not everyone is totally on board. In fact, many people are indifferent toward the product, and other Aldi shoppers avoid Mama Cozzi's pizzas entirely. What is it about these pizzas that has the internet so divided?
Not everyone has had the best Mama Cozzi's pizza experience
One Aldi shopper took to Reddit after their purchase of a Mama Cozzi's pepperoni pizza left them disappointed and confused. The photos attached to their post show a square of pizza dough, with cheese and pepperoni covering only about half of the pizza. The kicker? No pizza sauce.
A few Redditors immediately shared their dislike for the product, with one person going so far as to say, "I hate this pizza ... and it's not worth the money." Another person commented that they found the pizza "decent" but they wouldn't buy it again.
Fortunately, most people were able to make light of the situation. The Redditor who posted the photos said they added their own pizza sauce and redistributed the cheese and pepperoni. Others referenced the "none pizza with left beef" weird pizza order meme. Still others joked, "Some assembly required, sauce not included," and "Well, technically it just says pepperoni and cheese on a crust, my bro." Maybe the pizza box label was on to something. At least, according to Insider, the crust is one of the pizza's best features.
