Sam's Club is famous for its bulk items and stellar bargains. Of all the deals the chain offers, the store brand's organic maple syrup is among the best Member's Mark items under $15. Not only is it a steal at $12.28 per 32-ounce bottle (pricing varies by location), but it's also a high-quality product — and where it's from has everything to do with its top-tier flavor.

As stated on the bottle, Member's Mark organic 100% pure maple syrup is sourced from Canada. It's also certified organic by Ecocert Canada LIC, an organization that has championed organic agriculture for more than 25 years. While the bottle doesn't say exactly where the syrup is made, it's most likely from Quebec. Of all the pure maple syrups bottled and sold around the world, 71% come from Canada, and 91% of Canadian varieties are from the province (via Maple from Canada). Sam's Club's organic maple syrup currently has a 4.8-star rating and more than 6,900 reviews.

The sole ingredient is organic maple syrup. The difference between maple syrup and pancake syrup is that the former is made by reducing maple sap into syrup, while the latter is highly processed and made mostly from industrial sweeteners like high-fructose corn syrup. Sam's Club's maple syrup is also labeled "grade A dark color," meaning it was made from late-season sap that's higher in fructose and glucose. When cooked, these sugars caramelize, resulting in a deep maple flavor.

Sam's Club organic maple syrup is a tasty steal

Many consider Member's Mark organic maple syrup one of the best deals at Sam's Club. "I'm glad that Sam's Club carries this product at this price point. I also appreciate the design of the flip-top lid for easy pouring," one Sam's Club reviewer writes. "The product quality is always consistent, exactly why we have been buying this for years. The flavor is delicious, nice thickness ... and the price is affordable," says another. "Normally I buy amber syrup, but at less than half the price ... I decided to give the darker syrup a try. It has a slightly more pronounced maple flavor ... Refrigerated, it can last six months to a year," a third reviewer shares.

Although Sam's Club doesn't name a supplier, other grocery chains carry organic dark maple syrups that are similarly sourced. However, prices vary greatly. Sam's maple syrup costs 38 cents per ounce, while same-sized bottles by Whole Foods and Nature's Promise cost 54 and 62 cents per ounce, respectively.

Maple syrup is a must for pancakes, waffles, and French toast, but there are other ways to use it. For instance, maple syrup is the secret ingredient in this perfectly balanced coleslaw, rounding out the zippy mustard dressing. It's also great for roasted vegetables, seasonal desserts, candied bacon, baked fruit, smoothies, and snacks like caramel corn and mixed nuts. Sam's Club reviewers note it's tasty in oatmeal, coffee, and yogurt, too.
