The Fun New Shape Reese's Is Debuting This Holiday Season

The holiday season might bring to mind elaborate sugar and gingerbread cookies, hot cocoa, and some of your favorite traditional desserts, but it's high time you put a candy jar out too. From Hershey's new Sugar Cookie Kisses to Ghirardelli's White Chocolate Sugar Cookie Squares, there are a lot of festive candies coming onto the market these days. The latest addition, however, is from Reese's — and it isn't the go-to Christmas trees you know and love. Besides, everyone knows themed Reese's treats taste better than the original cups

This year, Reese's is releasing a new shape to celebrate, nutcrackers. The new holiday shape resembles the toy soldier figurines that have been associated with Christmas for a long time (via Best Products). Like the Reese's Christmas tree shapes, we think these nutcracker peanut butter treats will be really delicious. The product description, shared by Thrillist, says, "one of the joys of the season is discovering the latest Reese's Peanut butter Cup holiday shapes." We couldn't agree more. Thanks to the delicious layer of milk chocolate and peanut butter filling, the new snack-sized sweet will undoubtedly be a hit.

Here's what you need to know about Reese's new peanut butter nutcrackers

The new Reese's nutcracker peanut butter candies are individually wrapped and designed to look like different nutcracker soldiers. One key thing to note about these new treats, however, is that they really aren't the same size as the tree-shaped peanut butter cups. The nutcracker Reese's are smaller pieces, which make them a great pick-me-up when you need a sugar hit but don't want to overdo it.

The good news is you shouldn't have any trouble finding the new shape of Reese's at all. They are available at retailers nationwide including Walmart and Rite Aid, among others. Each 10-ounce bag is only about $3, so they're a bargain too. So be sure to pick up a bag or two to try when you spot these sweet, salty treats — and while you're out shopping for Christmas candy, keep an eye out for Hershey's other holiday products. This year they brand introduced a Cookies 'n' Cream Build-a-Snowman and Milk Chocolate Build-a-Snowman, plus another new Reese's shape, a White Elephant.
