This easy peach tart recipe is the prime example of that. Recipe developer and private practice registered dietician Kristen Carli has created a simple, delicious, yet elegant dessert, and it's sure to be a major hit at your next dinner party. "This is a great dessert to impress a crowd, but is super easy," Carli says of this peach tart. By using canned peaches and a store-bought pie crust, this recipe takes less than an hour to prepare, uses minimal and simple ingredients, and definitely delivers on the immaculate flavors of a peach tart. So, are you looking for an amazing dessert that'll surely impress at your next family dinner? If so, give this easy peach tart recipe a try.

Gather your ingredients to prepare this easy peach tart

To begin making this easy peach tart, you'll need to gather the proper ingredients — and you won't need a lot of items at all. You'll need canned peaches (drained), a refrigerated store-bought pie crust, sugar, lemon juice, salt, and an egg. That's literally it! The goal of this recipe is to be easy without sacrificing any quality of flavor. Carli notes that you can use fresh peaches if you'd like, but canned will work just as well. Once your ingredients are ready to go, it's time to move on to the next step.

Prepare the peach filling

Once you have all of your ingredients sorted out and measured, preheat your oven to 375 F, then begin preparing your peach filling. Of course, you'll need your canned peach chunks (or fresh peach chunks, if you'd prefer), and you can add those to a medium-sized bowl. Then, add your sugar, lemon juice, and salt. Gently stir the mixture to evenly combine everything. (Be absolutely sure to stir gently so you don't break up any of the peach chunks!)

Roll out your pie crust onto a baking sheet

After you've prepared your peach filling, you can set it aside and move on to the crust. First, grab a round baking sheet, and spray it with nonstick cooking spray. Then, roll your crust out onto the pan, as shown in the above picture. Your crust will be pretty thin, but keep in mind that you'll be rolling over the edges before baking to create a thicker, flakier crust on the outside.

Add your peach mixture to the pie crust

Now that you have your pie crust rolled out and your peach filling prepared, you can go ahead and combine the two. Pour all of your filling into the middle of the crust, but be sure to avoid all of the excess liquid. After all, no one wants a soggy peach tart! Also, be sure to keep the peach filling towards the middle of the crust, leaving about 1 to 2 inches of space to fold over the ends of the crust.

Fold the crust edges over, and brush the egg wash over the crust

Once you've added the peach filling to the middle of your pie crust, you can go ahead and fold over the edges of the crust. Fold the edges, and possibly slightly press together the parts where the edges meet, leaving an open face to see the peaches. Then, beat the egg in a small bowl, and brush the egg wash along the edges of the tart's crust to ensure that it gets flakey and perfectly golden when baking in the oven.

Bake your peach tart, and enjoy

Bake your peach tart for about 30 minutes. Once it's done baking, you pull it out of the oven, and you're ready to enjoy. Carli notes that this easy peach tart pairs wonderfully with vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and whipped cream. And, unfortunately, leftovers won't store well, so you'll want to try to enjoy all of this tart when it's freshly baked — but that shouldn't be an issue at all, because it's just that delicious. If you're looking for an easy but elegant and delicious dessert, give this easy peach tart a try.
