The Truth About Wes Dills From Halloween Baking Championship Season 7

Season 7 of Food Network's "Halloween Baking Championship" will be a scary good time. This season, according to Food Network, contestants will have to persevere through the horror-themed competition at Camp Devil's Food Lake. Viewers will discover if the bakers are as brave as they are persistent and talented. Which contestant will survive this spine-chilling experience, emerge the winner, and be awarded $25,000? Perhaps it will be Wes Dills from Austin, Texas, who runs The Bearded Baking Company. According to an introductory slideshow to the contestants on the Food Network website, Dills' bakery is "known for its nostalgic family recipes, but likes to bring out the gore when it comes to Halloween decorating."

Dills told audiences a little more about the show in an interview with Goldsboro, NC's News Argus, stating, "I can tell you that the theme of the show is '80s slasher movies based on 'Nightmare on Elm Street,' 'Friday the 13th,' and all of those Halloween movies."

Will Wes Dills slay the competition?

While Wes Dills may be new to the competition, he's no novice when it comes to baking. Despite attending culinary school and serving some savory items at his bakery, Dills found that his jam was more as a pastry chef. He says his baking skills were self-taught. Dills started his baking career by entering pies, cakes, and cookies in fairs and was influenced early on by his family's baking skills and recipes. When deciding what to feature at The Bearded Baking Company shop, he says he "...looked for these tradition cakes, pies, and cookies and unique things from my childhood whether it came from the ladies at church or family reunions or something that my mom or grandma always made" (via News Argus).

Regardless of who the winner is, Dills encourages all audiences to tune into "Halloween Baking Championship," which airs on Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Food Network (via Fansided and Discovery+).

"It promises to be a killer time," Dills wrote on Facebook.
