Have you ever been to Flavortown? It's a different kind of place. The police cruisers are Chevy convertibles, and the cops wear bowling shirts. There's a deep fryer in every home, and the prosciutto stores only carry salami. And at Flavortown's many diners, drive-ins, and dives, the servings are so huge they're served on trash can lids.
Presiding over all this unpretentious, unrefined goodness is Mayor Guy Fieri, who earlier this year outflanked all his snobby, classically trained peers to become the highest-paid chef on cable TV (via Forbes). Now, Fieri has a new outlet for speaking to his constituents; Flavortown is on TikTok.
Flavortown TikTok's inaugural video, posted on November 3, reaffirms Mayor Fieri's commitment to preserving our constitutional right to consume greasy food. His ardent supporters quickly followed. "I've never followed an account quicker," one TikToker commented. Another commenter expressed their happiness in a way only a Flavortown native could appreciate: "Well roll me in Donkey Sauce and call me the mayor. I'm so glad."

Guy Fieri is a huge hit on TV with his two signature Food Network shows "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives" and "Guy's Grocery Games." But his persona is also perfect for social media. The tattoos, the sunglasses, the hair, the shirts with the flames — the whole package is just so meme-able, and everyone from "Saturday Night Live" to various YouTubers has taken advantage (via Mashable). Some celebrities might be upset to discover their public image has been reduced to parody, but not Fieri. He embraced it. As the old saying goes, if you can't beat them, join them.
