The Chick-Fil-A Item You Are Based On Your Zodiac Sign
In ancient times, many powerful people would not make a move without consulting an astrologer to advise them on whatever course of action the heavens may have decreed. And by "ancient times," of course, we are referring to the 1980s, when FLOTUS Nancy Reagan used to have her personal astrologer determine the optimal time for telling the public to just say no and stuff like that. These days, however, we prefer to outsource such major life decisions to social media (Twitter, whom should I vote for? Instagram, what should I wear?) or apps (Tinder, who's the one for me?)
This does not mean that astrology doesn't still have a place in our lives, although we use it more as a method of personality analysis than a tool for predicting or arranging the future. Some of us also make room for it in lieu of coin-flipping for such minor matters such as what to order at a fast-food restaurant. Just for fun, we're combining these two approaches and using them on one of America's best-loved fast food chains, Chick-fil-A. Here we're consulting the stars to determine not just the menu item that will best please each sign, but the one that we feel best encapsulates their astrological essence.
Aries: Hash Brown Scramble Burrito
As the sun enters Aries at the time of the spring equinox, this kicks off the zodiac cycle and marks the start of the astrological new year. If you think about it, celebrating the start of the year at the beginning of spring makes more sense than doing so in freezing January: Just ask the millions of people around the globe who observe the spring New Year's celebration known as Nowruz. What this means for Aries as a sun sign, as per Elite Daily, is that this sign always likes to be first in line. The Ram is also all about new life, new beginnings, and all that newfound energy that comes with the beginning of spring as we shake off our winter torpor.
If Aries was to have a designated time of day, that time would be "bright and early." This means, of course, that they are best represented by something from Chick-fil-A's breakfast menu. As the Ram is full of vim and vigor, their menu item would be on the hearty side. We're thinking the Hash Brown Scramble Burrito made with chicken nuggets, as it 's full of protein from the chicken, eggs, and cheese, and gets a carb boost from the potatoes. There's even a little spice for this fire sign in the form of zingy jalapeño salsa, and the whole shebang is wrapped in a tortilla that makes it perfect for the grab-and-go dining that impatient Aries prefers.
Taurus: Cookies & Cream Milkshake
While Taurus may follow right behind Aries in the zodiac, the two signs are very different in nature. Instead of a hard-charging Ram, Taurus is more of a Ferdinand the Bull type, content to sit and smell the flowers that should be in full bloom once the sun moves into this sign. Taureans, who are ruled by the planet Venus, are known to be fond of the finer things in life and can tend to be somewhat indulgent, and this extends to their having a sweet tooth. "Never skip dessert" may be a Taurean words to live by, but Thought Catalog explains that teeth aren't the only sweet thing about the Bull. This word could well be applied to their disposition, too — and interestingly enough, there may well be a correlation between flavor preferences and personality.
With all that in mind, we feel that the perfect choice for the Bull must be something from Chick-fil-A's treats menu, most likely the sweet, comforting, Cookies & Cream Milkshake. Spending some time savoring this dessert drink is nothing but pure pleasure, as is time spent in the company of a Taurus friend.
Gemini: Chick-fil-A Cool Wrap
Gemini is known as one of the zodiac's most sociable signs. The celestial Twins tend to be super-outgoing and all kinds of fun — too much fun for one, which is why their sign is a double one! While Gemini's dual nature can occasionally be a bit of a trial to their friends (You thought you were Gemini's bestie? Guess what, you're not the only one), there's no denying that Gemini is the life of every party.
So what Chick-fil-A menu item could possibly embody all that Gemini entails? Too bad they don't offer any double chicken sandwiches, as that could cover the whole "twins" thing. Since The Atlantic considers Gemini to be the coolest of all the horoscope signs, though, we're going to go with the Chick-fil-A Cool Wrap. It's fresh, fun, and full of flavor, all of which traits are very Gemini-like. What's more, this sandwich contains a double dose of cheese, both cheddar and Monterey jack. It's also wrapped in a tortilla for maximum portability, which is something that's sure to suit the busiest bee in the zodiac.
Cancer: Chick-fil-A Chick-n-Minis
Cancer can be the moodiest of the zodiac's signs, but this is because the Crab is very open about sharing their emotions. We all have our ups and downs, but Cancer isn't afraid to let you know exactly how they are feeling, something that Your Tango says is actually pretty darn adorable. Cancers are also homebodies who enjoy nothing more than spending time with their loved ones, and they'll happily share their last crumb with their nearest and dearest.
Cancer, we feel, could be nothing other than Chick-fil-A's Chick-n-Minis. These itty-bitty chicken sandwiches are hands-down the cutest thing on the menu, almost as cute as the cuddly Crab. Like the Crab, each tasty chicken nugget in these minis comes encased in a shell, in this case one of warm, tasty bread. The minis are also topped with a sweet honey butter spread, but the most perfectly Cancer-like thing about this dish is that no mini stands alone. With each order, after all, you get an entire family of four. While Cancer will no doubt see such a serving as shareable, the minis are small so it's probably a good idea for the generous Crab to order more than one.
Leo: Chick-fil-A Deluxe Sandwich
What can we say about Leo? The Lion is the king of the beasts, and also the king of the zodiac. How do we know? Because Leos tell us it's so! As Astrology points out, Leos are not lacking in self-esteem. In most cases, though, they just automatically assume their place at the center of the universe, so they don't feel this is something they have to fight to achieve or retain. Hmm, this kind of reminds us of a certain participant in the Chicken Sandwich Wars. Chick-fil-A didn't feel they needed to struggle too hard to defend the honor of their original chicken sandwich, and it seems that market data bears them out. Despite its hordes of imitators, this sandwich continues to reign over all.
So are we choosing Chick-fil-A's champion chicken sandwich to represent the Lion of the zodiac? Well, not quite. If Leo were to adopt an official motto, it would most likely be "Go big or go home." If there's anything better than an original, world-beating sandwich, it would be the deluxe version of same! The Chick-fil-A Deluxe Sandwich is just like the chain's gold standard flagship item, only with the addition of lettuce, tomato, and cheese. After all, why not say yes to all of the frills and furbelows? Leo always does, which is what makes this sandwich the most Leonine item on Chick-fil-A's menu.
Virgo: Egg White Grill
Of all the signs in the zodiac, Virgos are the ones who are most concerned with their health and well-being as well as that of everyone else with whom they come into contact. Virgos are nurturing by nature, and many of them actually go into health care as a profession. They are also, as Your Tango notes, the "neat freaks" of the zodiac, although there's nothing freakish about being concerned with hygiene and cleanliness. It could, in fact, be seen as a sign of politeness, since Virgos insist on welcoming their guests into a mess-free (and germ-free!) environment.
As we peruse the Chick-fil-A menu, there's one item that seems to have "Virgo" written all over it: the Chick-fil-A Egg White Grill. That perfectly folded, pristine-pure egg white, that healthy multigrain bun, and that grilled (not fried) chicken breast, all topped with neat triangles of cheese. Even the "hint of citrus" mentioned on the menu speaks to the acerbic wit that underlies Virgo's perfectly pulled-together exterior.
Libra: Waffle Fries
Libra is the sign of the scales, and true to this symbol, Libras are all about balance. They carefully weigh both sides of every issue and try their best to give an equal hearing to every point of view. The downside of such a fair-minded nature, however, is that Libras can be a wee bit indecisive. In fact, friends and foes alike (not that Libras have too many of the latter) will often accuse Libra of being wishy-washy or even a flip-flopper.
Well, there's no shame in waffling when it has to do with Chick-fil-A's wonderful waffle fries! They are unequivocally delicious, and even a Libra will have no trouble making up their mind to add this menu item to every Chick-fil-A order. The waffle fries are actually the top-selling item on Chick-fil-A's menu, according to The Chicken Wire, which means they are popular with just about everybody. Come to think of it, that's a pretty Libra-esque trait, too! The only problem a Libra will have with these fries will be deciding what to dip them in. This sign is advised to request one of each sauce Chick-fil-A offers, since they are all equally worthy of consideration.
Scorpio: Market Salad
Scorpios, as ZodiacFire explains, may be the zodiac's most complex personality. They can be downright mysterious, even, since with this water sign, there's a lot going on underneath the surface. When you are dealing with a Scorpio, expect the unexpected, is all we can say. Not that this is a bad thing, by any means! We all need that friend who keeps us on our toes, and anyone lucky enough to have a Scorpio bff will certainly never be bored.
What, then, could we possibly pick from Chick-fil-A's relatively straightforward menu to symbolize this most inscrutable of signs? We'll have to drill down to the salad menu to find something that might work. While the Market Salad, on its surface, appears to be the typical arrangement of lettuce + chicken strips + cheese + veggies + dressing, a closer look reveals that the expected veggies are, instead, fruits. Strawberries and apples make for a refreshing change from tomatoes and onions, while blueberries come as a surprise since they're something you don't often see in a salad. The accompanying apple cider vinaigrette dressing gives the salad a little "sting" of flavor, as well, which is something else that reminds us of our favorite Scorpion.
Sagittarius: Spicy Southwest Salad
Sagittarians are the bold adventurers of the zodiac. They are not afraid to boldly go where no-one has gone before, split infinitives be damned! They're typically not super-foodies since they're so often eating on the go, but they do enjoy sampling all of the flavors the world has to offer. The Archer is also a fire sign, so they're partial to a little bit of heat! Taste of Home also notes that Sagittarians need to stay in good shape for all of their adventuring, so they do tend to favor nutritious fare.
With that in mind, we'll stay in the salad section of Chick-fil-A's menu for our Sagittarius pick. The Spicy Southwest Salad keeps things healthy with greens, tomatoes, roast corn, and red peppers, and provides plenty of fuel with protein-packed black beans, cheese, and grilled chicken. As the "spicy" part of its name implies, this salad also brings the heat with poblano chiles. A salsa-flavored dressing ties it all together for a taste that's as in-your-face (in a good way!) as Sagittarius themselves.
Capricorn: Chick-fil-A Grilled Chicken Club Sandwich
Capricorns are hard-working by nature, and they also tend to be traditionalists at heart. When it comes to their dietary preferences, they are all about meat and potatoes, and the Goat also tends to have a hearty appetite. As Allure points out, though, Capricorns aren't nearly as stodgy as they're made out to be, so they are capable of appreciating a new spin on an old classic.
For Capricorn, our Chick-fil-A pick is the Grilled Chicken Club Sandwich. It retains the bacon, lettuce, tomato, and cheese of the classic club, but replaces the sliced deli meats that are more typically used in this sandwich with a grilled chicken breast. The chicken, itself, has a very Capricorn-like aspect to it, with its down-to-earth (sign) smokiness contrasting with a little unexpected zing from the lemon/herb marinade. This sandwich comes with a choice of cheeses, but we feel that pepper jack best symbolizes that slight hint of spiciness that lurks beneath the Goat's staid surface.
Aquarius: Sausage, Egg, & Cheese Muffin
Aquarians undeniably march to the beat of their own drummer. Some call them the visionaries of the zodiac, while others are simply amazed by their offbeat personalities. According to many astrologers, this sign is really coming into its own now, as the Age of Aquarius apparently dawned in 2021 (via Well + Good). This may have been a bit later than many expected, as the hit song of the same name (via YouTube) came out in the 1960s. If the song lyrics are anything to go by, though, the era named after the Water Bearer will bring with it "the mind's true liberation."
How could we possibly find anything as unique as Aquarius on the Chick-fil-A menu? Well, it isn't easy, but we feel we may have a fit lurking amongst the breakfast dishes. While at first glance the Sausage, Egg, & Cheese Muffin doesn't seem like anything out of the ordinary, if you think about it, what could be wackier than ordering what is basically an Egg McMuffin at a restaurant that isn't McDonald's? The fact that this menu item violates the whole "Eat Mor Chikin" edict also gives it an oh-so-Aquarian vibe.
Pisces: Chick-fil-A Nuggets with Polynesian Sauce
There's no doubt about it — as Thought Catalog has unequivocally decreed, Pisces is the sweetest sign in the zodiac. The gentle, dreamy Fish is adored by everyone who swims into their orbit (a bit of a mixed metaphor, but we are talking about celestial sea creatures here), and Pisces loves everyone else in return.
Pisces' enduring appeal gives this sign something in common with Chick-fil-A's bestselling entrée, the perennially popular chicken nuggets. As The Chicken Wire reports, nuggets are a favorite with Chick-fil-A patrons both young and old. The only thing better than nuggets fresh from the fryer is those same nuggets dipped in a side of delicious sauce, and we feel that the best (and thus most Piscean) of these sauces is the Polynesian. Another Chicken Wire survey shows that Polynesian sauce is tops with nugget fans nationwide. No wonder, when it's as sweet as our favorite Fish, and yet retains a little bit of tang that keeps it from becoming too cloying.
Ophiuchus: Spicy Chicken Biscuit
While it's generally accepted that there are 12 signs in the zodiac, during the early 20-teens there was a brief flurry of interest in a so-called "new" 13th sign. If you were born between the dates of November 29thand December 17th, it seems that you have your choice: you can either identify as a Sagittarius or as an Ophiuchus. Just don't expect the rest of us to follow suit with all the sign-switching that Well + Good says this would entail, since that would make for way too much confusion,
Since Ophiuchus is a sign that few acknowledge, it's only fitting that they be represented by an item that may — or may not — still be on the Chick-fil-A menu. The Spicy Chicken Biscuit is something that we thought had been removed from the chain's breakfast menu circa 2016, which may have been around the last time anyone got in a tizzy over the existence or nonexistence of Ophiuchus. As it turns out, though, Chick-fil-A says the Spicy Chicken Biscuits are still available in certain quarters (as are Ophiuchans, no doubt). Even if these biscuits aren't featured on the menu at your local CFA, you may still be able to order one if the stars are aligned just right ... and you arrive just as the breakfast biscuits are giving way to the spicy chicken sandwiches featured on the lunchtime menu.
