  • Aaron has helped conduct market research for everything from non-alcoholic spirits to frozen teriyaki entrees.
  • He trained for a year under the legendary powerlifting coach Scot Mendelson. He never broke a 225-lb bench press, but the nutritional education also never left him.
  • A PADI-certified rescue diver, Aaron can be found making sure fishers come back safely from California Spiny Lobster Season, and he knows the best place in the state for wild-caught uni.

Experience

Aaron was born in Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley, home of the greatest Mexican food in the United States, to a family headed by a Polish Holocaust refugee and an Italian-American expat in Havana. He is the product of several intermingling immigrant communities, and has the library of oral-tradition recipes and eclectic pallet to match. With an MFA from the Mike Curb College of Arts, Media, and Communications at CSU Northridge, he's interviewed artists, humanitarians, social workers, and more for his previous writing work, as well as contributed to Imago, an experimental arts criticism journal. He's still not totally over the death of Tesco's Fresh & Easy.

Education

Aaron has an MFA and a BA in Cinema and Television Arts from CSU Northridge with a writing focus, meaning that whether the topic is tacos or frozen latkes, he's going to find the most compelling story he can.
