The Big Change Lil Yachty Wishes Uncrustables Would Make
Lil Yachty's first fame to claim is undeniably his music, sure. But after that, there's another very important thing we've come to expect from this unique rapper: serious snack love. Lil Yachty is never afraid to voice his opinions on different beloved food items, and we are here for it. Who could forget when he updated the Reese's Puffs rap, causing quite the stir online when some people loved his remix and others were annoyed that anyone dared mess with the original? And then, of course, that led to General Mills collaborating with the artist and releasing special Lil Yachty Reese's Puffs. According to Yahoo! Money, we also know that Lil Yachty gives fruits and vegetables thumbs down but loves Girl Scout cookies, limited-release potato chips, and hard-to-find sodas. Which is all extremely relatable, even if we do recommend getting a little fruit and veg action in your life.
Recently, Lil Yachty went all in on sharing his snack preferences for the debut of "Snacked" (via YouTube). This is the latest new show from First We Feast, of "Hot Ones" fame. The concept is simple but just as irresistible as the subject matter at hand: celebrities spend several minutes telling us all of their favorite snacks and why they love them. On Lil Yachty's episode, we learned that Uncrustables are a go-to for the performer, but that doesn't mean he thinks these little sandwiches are totally perfect.
Lil Yachty isn't ready for Uncrustables' jelly
Uncrustables are a favorite among children and nostalgic grown-ups, alike, but in case you're unfamiliar, they're round peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on white bread – with the crusts cut off, of course – sold frozen from jelly brand Smucker's (per the brand's website). Uncrustables has other varieties, too, from savory Pepperoni Bites and Taco Bites to sweet Chocolate Flavored Hazelnut Spread and a strawberry version of the Peanut Butter & Grape Jelly original. Lil Yachty, himself, rightly adds that Uncrustables also now come on whole wheat bread.
However, it's the OG Uncrustable that Lil Yachty names as his favorite snack, explaining on Snacked, "I love, love, love peanut butter and jelly sandwiches ... I hate crust" (via YouTube). So, Uncrustables do seem like a natural fit for this rapper. But there's one thing that Lil Yachty actually also hates about this particular favorite: "There's so much f**king jelly!" he jokingly shouts, slamming the box of Uncrustables down.
Lil Yachty goes on to describe his Uncrustables eating method, which is due to the excess of jelly: He eats around the middle and tosses the center since that's where there's a big pocket of the grape spread. He may have a point. Even in the photo of the sandwich on the box, the ratio of jelly to peanut butter seems skewed. Still, Lil Yachty is willing to overlook this jelly flaw for such a reliably good snack – it's hard to get more classic than peanut butter and jelly, after all, right?
