Fletcher Huntley is a New York-based writer, translator, and former restaurant professional who views the plate through a scholarly lens. With a degree in history and a background managing a blog for antique map enthusiasts, he treats food as a primary source, obsessively researching the historical and geographical origins of the world's most iconic dishes. Following two years spent eating his way across Latin America, Fletcher returned to the U.S. to focus on culinary storytelling, combining his academic rigor with a love for testing new recipes in his home kitchen. Fletcher joined Static Media in 2022, writing for multiple food brands, including Mashed, The Takeout, and Tasting Table. When he isn't hunched over a desk writing, editing, drawing cartoons, or preparing food for his friends, he is usually bopping around the city in search of the Big Apple's finest fare.

Education

Fletcher has a bachelor's degree in history from New York University and a master's degree in creative writing from The New School.
