Experience

Samantha writes about food, wine, and culture on a freelance basis for publications like FoodPrint, Modern Farmer, and SevenFifty Daily and is the former assistant food and drinks editor at Paste Magazine. She has also contributed articles for multiple Static Media brands, including Chowhound, Mashed, and Tasting Table. She's traveled to multiple wine regions to report on innovative winemaking and labor practices and has interviewed accomplished chefs like Masaharu Morimoto. She's interested in drawing connections between what we consume and what it says about our cultures, our worldviews, and our politics.

Education

Samantha holds a bachelor's degree in English from Kennesaw State University, a master's degree in gastronomy from Boston University, and a WSET Level 3 certification from Commonwealth Wine School. Samantha's educational background in writing and gastronomy, which focuses on the sociopolitical realities that undergird food cultures and our food system, makes her uniquely poised to write about food from a more analytical point of view.
