  • From 2019 to 2023, Garrett produced, co-hosted, and cooked on a popular food show, "Eat It or Yeet It," on YouTube for 89 episodes. Guests included Danny Trejo and Mythical Chef Josh Scherer.
  • Garrett has eaten great food all over the world, including in Beirut, Addis Ababa, London, Tokyo, and more. He still dreams of the hummus bowls and manakeesh he ate throughout Lebanon.
  • Living in New York City from 2004 to 2012 taught Garrett to become a pizza-phile. He tried slices all over the city and found he preferred a crisp and flavorful crust, a strong parmesan umami presence, a moderate amount of cheese, and a light sauce that isn't too acidic.

Experience

Garrett wrote his first food piece in 2005 for McSweeney's Internet Tendency, explaining his complicated love for the caffeinated water, Water Joe. At the time, he was trying to make it as a comedian in New York City, where he developed his obsession for pizza after a near-religious experience at Una Pizza Napoletana. He ate nearly a slice a day, frequenting NY Pizza Suprema, Luigi's, and Joe's. He later created photo essays and wrote travelogues for the Summit County Citizens Voice. He continues to write travel stories and guides on his Substack, Quiet Traveller. Garrett worked as showrunner, producer, and co-host of the hit food show, "Eat It or Yeet It," which ran for 89 episodes. He dove into all aspects of food to prepare for each episode and learned to become a true food generalist.

Education

Garrett has a bachelor's degree in theater from Principia College.
