  • Jennifer has been in the hospitality industry for over a decade, assisting private chefs in the Lake Tahoe area as a sous chef for intimate, in-home culinary experiences.
  • Jennifer is the marketing manager for a lakefront fine dining establishment in Lake Tahoe, which is owned by members of the Hilton family. She's also had the pleasure of serving the late Barron Hilton at his ranch in Nevada.
  • Jennifer has interviewed 15 fellow survivors of mass shootings. She is currently working on a book that will shed light on how to tackle the gun violence epidemic.

Experience

Jennifer has composed over 500 articles in print and online over the course of 12 years as a writer and journalist in North Lake Tahoe. Jennifer also shoots professional photography, and specializes in family portraits, engagements, weddings, maternity and newborn, Boudoir, and food/restaurant photography. While attending grad school, Jennifer served as Director of the Graduate Student Alliance where she was responsible for distributing grant funds, managing social media operations, hosting graduate orientation, providing monthly office hours, and serving as a liaison between the graduate community and the Board of Directors.

Education

Jennifer holds a BA in Writing and History from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she focused on research and the professional writing process. During her undergraduate studies, she attended the University of Pittsburgh's Semester at Sea program, where she traveled around the world onboard an educational ship. In 2014, she received her MFA in Writing with an emphasis in creative nonfiction from San Francisco's California College of the Arts.
