  • Jennifer has composed over 500 articles in print and online over the course of 12 years as a writer and journalist in North Lake Tahoe, ranging in topic from growth in the private chef industry to formaldehyde poisoning in low-income housing units.
  • After receiving a masters in creative writing in San Francisco, Jennifer traveled the country with her dog and interviewed 15 survivors of school/mass shootings all over the US, including her hometown where she survived a school shooting in 1998. Nearly 20 years later, she also survived the Las Vegas shooting in 2017. She's currently working on a book that she hopes will shed light on what these remarkable survivors are doing to tackle the epidemic.
  • With past work experience in marketing, public relations, and literary publicity, Jennifer has a solid grasp on website analytics and optimization, promotion, digital advertising, and online media placement.


Jennifer is a North Lake Tahoe-based freelance writer with an MFA in creative writing from California College of the Arts in San Francisco. Her past work has appeared in the Sierra Sun Newspaper, North Lake Tahoe Bonanza, Tahoe Magazine, and Tahoe Quarterly. Jennifer also shoots professional photography, and specializes in family portraits, engagements, weddings, maternity and newborn, Boudoir, and food/restaurant photography.


Jennifer holds a BA in Writing and History from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she focused on research and the professional writing process. During her undergraduate studies, she attended the University of Pittsburgh's Semester at Sea program, where she traveled around the world onboard an educational ship. In 2014, she received her MFA in Writing with an emphasis in creative nonfiction from San Francisco’s California College of the Arts. While attending CCA, Jennifer served as Director of the Graduate Student Alliance where she was responsible for distributing grant funds, managing social media operations, hosting graduate orientation, providing monthly office hours and serving as a liaison between the graduate community and the Board of Directors.
