  • He won third place at the Cheesemonger Invitational competition in 2022 in New York City.
  • In 2020, he developed and taught a food studies course for Tufts University's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.


Jared's food reporting has appeared in a variety of publications including Eater, Boston.com, Roads & Kingdoms, and more. Formerly, he was a research and writing fellow at Food Tank. In addition to writing bios about himself in the third person, Jared is also a (very amateur) glass artist.


He holds a master's degree in food studies from Boston University, where his thesis research focused on kids' menus, and a magazine journalism degree from the University of Missouri.
