  • In 2018, Tyler covered food events and restaurant openings in Florence, Italy, which included attending one of the region's buzziest food festivals: eatPRATO.
  • Most recently, Tyler lived in Brazil, where he became thoroughly obsessed with açai by the carton, self-serve buffets, and coxinhas. His efforts to find and recreate these gems in the U.S. have been met with mixed success so far.
  • As an English teaching fellow at the Catholic University of Santos, he taught a workshop focusing on regional differences in American cuisine.

Tyler has worked as a freelance writer on food, entertainment and culture for three years. His work has taken him around the world. In Italy, he covered the culinary scene in Tuscany for Magenta Florence, and was published in Italian national news publication La Repubblica. His work also appears in Movieweb.com, where he wrote about the intersection between food and entertainment, Study.com, and more. Since joining Mashed in 2023, he has enjoyed applying his love and knowledge of all things food-related while covering trends in fast food advertising and the best ingredients you've never heard of.
